"2005" Rescues Here at CMHR
Mimi - 2005

Mimi is 5 yr old mare. She is about 29-30 inches tall,
palamino pinto. She has had her feet trimmed, teeth floated and has been dewormed. She
does have a bad hind leg that is a tad bit shorter than the other one. The vet said
it might have been from a old injury, but she runs and plays with the best of them. It
does not slow her down one bit. She is now available for adoption and is located in North
Georgia.
UPDATE: Mimi has been adopted by Angel's Gate Hospice and animal rehab, founder Susan
Marino.
Arizona Sunny - 2005

Sunny was rescued from horrible conditions by CHMR and
an officer of the AZ Livestock Bureau. He has been vet checked and will be gelded prior to
adoption. He needs to build up his muscle tone once again, due to his being kept in an
8'x8' area for a number of years with no exercise. The first 2 photos show Sunny with his
LONG, overgrown hooves, and the third pic shows them after his first hoof trim after
getting into CMHR's care.
UPDATE: Arizona Sunny has just been adopted by his Foster home in Texas, Jess Freer.
Lucy Lu - 2005

Lucy Lu is from a farm in MN and was bought back by a
broker. He had sold her once but she was brought back again, but we don't know why. After
30 days, this broker takes them to the slaughter auction to cut his losses. Thats where
Danielle comes in. She notifies us, we contacted the nearby rescue, they pulled her and
Ginny St. Pierre from CMHR picked her up.
UPDATE: Lucy Lu now has her wonderful, forever home with Anita Lesco.
Leo - 2005

Leo the dwarf was handed over because his owner
could not care for a dwarf. He had to have exstensive hoof repair and dental
surgery. Robin, one of our CMHR members, ended up adopting him herself. Leo is
shown here after extensive hoof repair.
UPDATE: Leo has been adopted.
Angel - 2005

UPDATE: Angel has been adopted
Tipper - 2005

This story isn't one of abuse, but that the person that had
Tipper and his brother Dickens, really didn't have the time to work with them. Since
both were stallions, they were fighting and not listening to anyone. Owner asked us
to place them. They were loved enough by their owner to give them up to a new home.
Tipper is now in his permanent home in AZ, being adopted by the Secor's in
Sahuarita.
UPDATE: Tipper has been adopted.
Dickens - 2005

This story isn't one of abuse, but that the person that had
Dickens and his brother Tipper, really didn't have the time to work with them. Since
both were stallions, they were fighting and not listening to anyone. Owner asked us
to place them. They were loved enough by their owner to give them up to a new home.
Tipper is now in his permanent home, but Dickens is looking for a new home for
himself.
UPDATE: Dickens was adopted today by Michael Robichaud of Tucson AZ
Sunny - 2005

Sunny came to rescue in a different sort of
way...he was found wandering loose in Oklahoma! After the required time passed, and
no owner was found, the local law enforcement OK'd his relinquishment to CMHR. Surprising,
Sunny arrived in overall good health. He just needs his feet trimmed, and will be
gelded before being placed.
UPDATE: Sunny has been adopted.
Trisket - 2005

Trisket is our Florida mini that was turned over to CMHR by
her owners to get her out of heat and humidity. She had the heaves and they didn't
think she was going to make it.
UPDATE: Trisket was adopted and is doing very well with Christy and her family in
MA. She will be having a foal in spring.
Lexus - 2005

Lexus was found by a caring soul at an auction where she was in
deplorable condition and was was ridden into the auction ring by a 200+ lb man.
She was then turned over to White Bird Appoloosa Rescue and in turn to CMHR.
In the six months that she has been in rescue care, Lexus has blossomed in to a
georgeous, refined and healthy Pony. She is the mini version of a Pocket Pet and
loves all humans, especially if you have a pocket full of treats. This little girl
will make someone a fabulous friend. We estimate her to be 11 to 12 hands and two
years old. She is currently located in Virginia and would love to be a
"Forever" Pony to a great family.
UPDATE: Lexus, AKA "Baby" is enjoying her new
home with her new Mom "Lynn", who is a Vet, and uses "Clicker
Training" in training her horses and dogs. Seems "Baby" is loving all
the extra attention that goes along with the training!!
Willow - 2005

Pictured on left at time of being rescued, and
"after" care through CMHR, on the right.
Willow is a 3 year old Shetland/Miniature that was bred as
a yearling and foaled her first foal at 2. Now as a 3 yr old Willow is again in
foal. Because she was bred so young, Willow has not finished growing and filling
out. Our hope is that with alot of good feed and some TLC, Willow will begin to grow
again after she foals. Right now Willow is only 35.5 inches but we feel sure she was
probably meant to be a taller pony. Willow is at her foster home getting tons of
attention! Watch for more pictures of Willow as we follow her progress. We
anticipate that it will take at least a year of foster care for Willow to be back to a
suitable, healthy condition.
UPDATE: Willow has been adopted by her foster Mom, Tina.
