MICHIGAN

Remy

Remy is a 4 year old 36 inch sorrel snowflake appaloosa mare. She came into CMHR as a bred mare and gave birth to a handsome colt in her foster home named Sawyer. Remy is a sweet girl but is not recommended at this time for young children or beginners. She will do great with a more experienced horse person as she definitely has a mind of her own. She tries to get her way but is quick to learn when that is not going to happen so a firm hand is a must. She has come a long way in her foster home. Her basic ground manners are much improved and get better everyday. She is a good girl for the farrier and the vet. She is not a huge fan of baths of clipping but we have been working on that and she is coming along nicely. Remy has endless potential and would make a very nice country pleasure driving horse or just a great pet. Remy is up to date on farrier, worming, vaccinations, and teeth floating.  Adoption fee: $350

Sawyer

Sawyer was born May 5, 2011 to Remy which makes him one year old this year. Sawyer is a very handsome sorrel gelding with a blaze and one hind sock. He is healthy and gets lots of love and attention in his foster home. He is halter broke and weaned from Remy and will be gelded before he is adopted.  Adoption fee: $350

PJ

PJ is an AMHA/AMHR registered 16 year old 32" Bay pinto gelding. He was used as a stallion but as CMHR policy stipulates, he was gelded. PJ was also shown as a youngster who did very well in the ring in halter. He is a very sweet boy, very easy to work with. He is good for the vet & farrier and was great for bathing and clipping. Because he was a stallion he was separated and not socialized with other horses, other than sharing a fence line. He still shows some mild aggression towards other male horses but it has improved. He has no issues with mares and in time he should be okay with other geldings. P.J. was handeled by an 8 year old little girl this summer while in foster care at a 4-H Clinic. He was very well behaved for her, quite the gentleman, and enjoyed his day being used. He has endless potential and his foster home said he should make an awesome country pleasure horse, or just a sweet boy to love Adoption fee: $500

OKLAHOMA

Sultan

This is Sultan. This is his second time around as a CMHR foster horse. He was adopted by a woman in Noman Oklahoma who surrendered him back to us with some others during the summer of 2011 in deplorable condition and with lice. He was attended by the vet quickly and is up to date on all vaccinations, farrier work, and teeth floating. He has been treated like the royal boy he is in foster care and has gained weight nicely with a proper feed program and light lunging exercise to restore his muscle tone.
Sultan is a 1997 silver dapple gelding that is AMHA/AMHR registered. He stands 33.75 inches tall.  Sultan was AMHA Western Regional Champ as a weanling and yearling; National Top Ten in both the Futurity and Amatuer as a yearling. He has an excellent disposition, gets along with other horses, is a gentleman about everything and has no vices. This boy would be an excellent choice for a youth show horse. Sultan will come with both sets of his registration papers. Adoption fee $350.

Prize aka Momma

This is Prize or "Momma" as she is sometimes called, who is back in CMHR foster care for a second time. She was adopted by a woman in Norman Oklahoma who surrendered back to CMHR emaciated. We were told she couldn't gain weight due to her age. Prize was attended by the vet quickly and is up to date on all vaccinations, farrier and teeth floating. She gained a weight quickly during her first month back in foster care and continues to thrive.

Prize is a beautiful 1989 silver dapple mare. She stands 33" tall and is AMHA/AMHR registered but will not come with her papers. She is sweet, very gentle and well mannered enough for anyone. Adoption fee is $200.

Hope

Hope is a 11 year old buckskin mare who is about 40 inches tall. She was rescued with some other horses who were being tortured. Hope is fearful but has come a long way learning to trust in foster care, but is not recommended for a home with small children. She needs a quiet owner who is gentle and has patience. She loves to be brushed and is co-operative with basic daily handling and feet cleaning. Hope is up to date on vaccinations, farrier work and teeth floating. Adoption fee: $200.

Davy

Davy is a sorrel gentle gelding who stands 41 inches tall and is approximately 21 years old. He does have a "crooked" left front leg and a large calcium deposit on that knee, but he is not lame. Davy is as sweet and gentle as they come and would be a great companion for a horse that needs a good buddy. Davy is up to date on vaccinations, farrier, and teeth floating. Adoption fee: $350.

  Pocket

Pocket is a silver dapple grey gelding, approximately 29 years old and 43 inches tall. He was neglected for many years of his earlier life and really needs a loving home where he can live out the rest of his days. Pocket is very gentle and is a great companion horse. He stands for trims, grooming and baths like a gentleman. Pocket is up to date on vaccinations, farrier, and teeth floating.  Adoption fee: $200

Trooper

Trooper is a 12 year old Appaloosa gelding who stands about 39 inches tall. He is easy to handle with a nice personality. He is fine with dogs and goats but children should approach him quietly and slowly. Loud noises make him a little nervous too, but his foster mom is working on these things with him. Trooper is up to date on vaccinations, farrier and teeth floating. Adoption fee: $350.
