month a person can select any CMHR foster horse that they wish to
sponsor. In return for being a sponsor in this manner, the sponsor
will receive a monthly update about their chosen foster horse
complete with photos! Please

We are glad you stopped by for a visit...we
ALWAYS welcome visitors! Unfortunately, with Miniature Horses becoming so popluar
these days, more and more are being bred, and sadly, there will be need for Rescue
operations to step in from time to time, to ensure that no minis will go without needed
homes or medical intervention.
That is where YOU come in. We as a
Rescue effort require many things, including monetary donations, donations of food,
grooming and care items to help in our efforts, and most importantly, VOLUNTEERS!!
LOTS of volunteers!
It is our hope, that as you tour our pages
here at CMHR, that you will find yourself in a position wanting to help, by donating
items/money, or by volunteering your time as a worker, a foster home, a prospective
adoptive home, a transporter, or by becoming a Director or Coordinator at either the State
or Regional level.

 Presidents Message - 2008
Greetings fellow Mini Horse
Lovers. What can I say about 2007? It certainly was a learning
experience. The time, money and energy spent in Kansas was worth
it, at least to myself and the rest of the BOD. It was not a
100% success, but there are 50 fewer minis suffering from lack
of proper care. That to me is a success and I would like to
state here that CMHR has not forgotten the remaining 50. All
legal avenues have been perused, all to no avail. Rest assured
that we are watching and waiting for an opportunity to save the
remaining minis. I personally will not rest until they are in
permanent loving homes.
Possibly as a result of the exposure that CMHR received over
this matter, we are getting calls weekly from individuals and
Humane Officers to help out. So far for 2008 we have been able
to step up and as of April have taken in close to 40 Minis.
This would not be possible to do without the wonderful people
that have offered their homes, farms and love to these
unfortunate horses. They have been coming to us in groups of 2,
3, 5 and as many as 10 in one rescue and we see no end in
sight. The worse the economy gets, the more people cannot afford
to feed these minis. Some of course as we all know, are simply
neglected and these are the ones that tug at my heart strings.
Especially the sweet girl, “Brandi” who was so bad-off that we
could not save her and she was euthanized. So, please, anyone
reading this, if you have room in your barn and your heart,
please, please contact us. We have many minis ready for
adoption and will always have a need for more Foster Homes in
all states.
I would like to personally thank ALL of the BOD for the
tireless efforts that have been put into Rescue and
Fundraising. You guys just amaze me. And I’d especially like
to thank all of the Foster Homes that have come on board,
because without them, there is no way we could help these
minis. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Chance's Miniature Horse Rescue is a not for
profit organization dedicated to the well-being of all miniature horses.
Our goal is to
rehabilitate abused, neglected, or unwanted miniature horses through the charitable works
of our members, sponsors, foster and adoptive homes.
Surrendered miniature horses will be accepted without judgment. CMHR seeks to better the
lives of all miniature horses through the constant promotion and education of responsible
miniature horse ownership and breeding practices.
